Position Summary: Seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Long-Term Substitute Teacher to teach first grade for the remainder of the school year. The ideal candidate will provide continuity of instruction, maintain a positive classroom environment, and support students’ academic growth during this transition.
 
Specific Duties Include:
  • Plan and deliver engaging 1st grade math, language arts, and social studies lessons using the school’s established curriculum and pacing guides
  • Assess student learning, monitor progress, and provide timely, meaningful feedback
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of students
  • Communicate effectively with students, grade-level colleagues, and administrators
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and continuity of instruction
  • Uphold school policies and contribute to a supportive school culture
  • Maintain clear classroom routines and expectations
  • Performs other related duties as directed by school administration, such as lunchroom duty, aftercare, etc
Required Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and demonstrate tact and diplomacy
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Prompt and regular attendance is required
Minimum Job Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Education preferred)
  • Experience teaching elementary or upper elementary
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to step into an established classroom and build rapport quickly
 
The Long Term Substitute 1st Grade Teacher, Woodward North position is a exempt, temporary position.
