High Meadows School in Roswell, Georgia, approximately 30 minutes north of Atlanta, is accepting Coordinator of Teaching and Learning applications for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a 10-month full-time position (August to May) along with 10 days each summer (in June/July). The Coordinator of Teaching and Learning reports directly to the Head of School. Position Overview

The Coordinator of Teaching and Learning (“Coordinator”) is responsible for working in partnership with the Academic Leadership Team in overseeing the design, implementation and evaluation of curriculum to ensure that the educational goals of the school are met. The Coordinator also serves as the PYP Coordinator, leading both the authorization process through the International Baccalaureate Program and providing leadership in the inquiry-based approach to education. The Coordinator of Teaching Learning works directly with faculty to strengthen teacher pedagogy and program implementation by spearheading professional understanding and growth, individually and collectively. 

As a member of the Academic Leadership Team, the Coordinator of Teaching and Learning continually assesses and supports the school’s efforts to offer progressive and differentiated learning experiences based on the school’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Oversight and PYP Coordination

  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop, implement and document curricular goals and progressive pedagogy in all subject areas, ensuring alignment with Mission, Vision and Values of the school.
  • Shepherd the coordination of the vertical alignment of curricular goals.
  • Collaborate with lower year’s teachers to develop, implement, and document the PYP curriculum, including the Programme of Inquiry (POI) and transdisciplinary units.
  • Lead the IB authorization process and coordinate the program evaluation, ensuring alignment with IB standards and practices. Serve as liaison between HMS and the International Baccalaureate Organization, maintaining communication regarding program updates and requirements.
  • Partner with Principals to coordinate routine programmatic reviews of all content areas and grade levels by developing and implementing on-going assessment procedures that analyze:
    • Content objectives and delivery/pedagogy - “the what and the why”
    • Student progress and the effectiveness of curricular programming.
  • Spearhead the training for and implementation of any new curricular programs, ensuring authentic and consistent program delivery.

Stay up to date on educational research and progressive educational trends to ensure innovative and research-based programming and implementation.

Teacher Support and Development

  • Partner with principals and Head of School to establish and maintain a collaborative, reflective, and growth-minded culture.
  • Organize professional development initiatives to support curricular implementation, progressive pedagogy, and academic excellence.
  • Support teachers in inquiry-based teaching strategies through instructional coaching.
  • Coaching may include: collecting and analyzing student data, co-developing unit plans, model lessons, class observations, peer observations, resource/material support, goal setting, class observations with teacher reflections, etc.
  • Work closely with Principals and teachers to address any issues or difficulties in implementing curricular programs and/or progressive pedagogy.
  • Collaborate with Principals as they onboard and develop new faculty.

Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the educational programs across the school/grade levels are meeting the needs of students and supporting their academic success.
  • Facilitate opportunities for the community to engage with the curriculum, including newsletters, organizing events, parent/guardian education and family information sessions.

The Campus

High Meadows School sits on 42 wooded acres in Roswell. The school is housed in several buildings spread across the two meadows on the property. We have an active barnyard on campus, serving as the home for horses, sheep, bunnies, and chickens. Faculty and staff must be comfortable traveling between buildings in all types of weather, participating in outdoor activities on the meadows and in the forest, and intermingling with animals.

Minimum Education/Prior Experience/Qualifications Required

  • Five + years as lower- or middle-years teacher or administrator
  • Formal education in teaching and learning (bachelor’s minimum, master’s preferred)

Preferences given to applicants with:

  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation cross grade levels
  • Experience supporting adult learners and facilitating professional development
  • Experience in inquiry-based or progressive education
  • Experience leading schoolwide initiatives or programs
  • International Baccalaureate School (PYP) experience
