Lower School STEM Educator

The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Lower School Part-Time STEM Educator to join our Clark Road campus and contribute to a forward-thinking school that values creativity, real-world application, and student-centered learning.

Responsibilities - Reporting to the Head of Lower School at Clark Road, the Lower School Part-Time STEM Educator at Clark Road will be responsible for the following:

• Design and teach interdisciplinary STEM lessons focused on environmental sciences and ecological systems, including marine science.
• Lead hands-on labs, engineering challenges, and outdoor investigations.
• Guide students in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting scientific data.
• Incorporate technology and digital tools to support research and learning.
• Support project-based learning and inquiry-driven instruction.
• Promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and conservation.
• Collaborate with educators to integrate environmental STEM across the curriculum.
• Maintain safe and organized learning spaces, including outdoor and lab environments.
• Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.

Qualifications - The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and/or preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of environmental science and ecosystems.
• Experience with STEM instruction and inquiry-based learning.
• Ability to engage students through hands-on, real-world learning.
• Strong organization and classroom management skills.
• Passion for nature, science, and environmental education.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and the Google drive platform.
• A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies including students, faculty, staff and parents.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a 10-month part-time exempt position available in August 2026. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
