The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Lower School Part-Time Music Educator to join our Clark Road Campus and contribute to a forward-thinking school that values creativity, real-world application, and student-centered learning.

Responsibilities - Reporting to the Head of Lower School at Clark Road, the Lower School Part-Time Music Educator at Clark Road will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate general music curriculum for Prekindergarten through third grade.
  • Lead, direct, and prepare students for performances throughout the year.
  • Foster a love of music through singing, movement, rhythm, and instrumental instruction.
  • Prepare students to perform in concerts and other events.
  • Collaborate with the Out-of-Door music department across the three campuses.
  • Organize and direct school concerts, performances, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Be an active member of the Florida Music Educators Association.
  • Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.

 

Qualifications - The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and/or preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in music education or performance required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience teaching general music education; ideally in an independent school setting.
  • Orff, Musikgarten, or Lower School Music Certification (F1 K-1) preferred.
  • Passion for learning and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Strong organization and classroom management skills.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and the Google Drive platform.
  • A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, and parents.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a 10-month part-time exempt position available in August 2026. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
