The Out-of-Door Academy is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Security Coordinator to join our team in supporting the safety and well-being of our three dynamic campuses in Sarasota, FL. Responsibilities - Reporting to the Chief Financial/Operations Officer, the Security Coordinator will:
- Coordinate daily security operations across multiple campuses.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for campus safety officers and support scheduling, communication and coverage planning.
- Oversee emergency preparedness and response initiatives, including the planning, coordination and execution of emergency drills.
- Provide security orientation and ongoing training for educators and students.
- Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.
Qualifications - The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and/or preferred:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of security type experience, law enforcement or School Resource Office experience preferred.
- Florida D and G license eligible required; current Florida D and G license preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in security, law enforcement, school safety, or a related protective services field.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and situational-awareness skills, with the ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in emergencies.
- Working knowledge of security protocols, access control systems, surveillance tools, and incident reporting/management practices.
- Professional presence marked by integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and a student-centered, service-oriented mindset.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and the ability to travel between campuses; CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (Google Workspace or MS Office) required.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a 12-month full-time exempt position available March 2026. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
