Mill Springs Academy is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to support K–12 students with learning differences, including ADHD, language disorders, dyslexia, autism Level 1, and executive functioning challenges. The SLP will provide classroom-integrated services, small-group and individual therapy, and collaborate with teachers and families to support students’ communication, language, and literacy development.

Key Responsibilities

Collaboration

  • Work with teachers, counselors, and special education staff to integrate speech and language strategies into classroom instruction.
  • Participate in team meetings and support the development of student learning plans.

Direct Student Services

  • Provide intervention in articulation, receptive and expressive language, social communication, and fluency.
  • Support academic communication skills including listening, comprehension, expressive language, and written language.
  • Deliver individual and small-group therapy aligned with curriculum expectations and student goals.

Assessment & Documentation

  • Conduct speech and language screenings and evaluations for students with suspected communication needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized and group therapy plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service records.
  • Use data to monitor student progress and adjust interventions.

Family & Staff Support

  • Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, strategies, and recommendations.
  • Provide teachers and parents with tools and strategies to support speech and language development.

Professional Expectations

  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development.
  • Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and learning differences.

Qualifications

  • Active Georgia Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Strong foundation in language development and academic language demands.
  • Experience working with students with learning differences is preferred.
