Speech Language Therapist

 

The Speech Language Therapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in children and/or adults. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech and language therapy, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping individuals improve their communication abilities and overall quality of life.

 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on the student's needs and goals.
  • Provide therapy to individuals with speech impairments, language delays, stuttering, voice disorders, and other communication challenges.
  • Implement effective treatment techniques, including articulation therapy, language intervention, and alternative communication methods.
  • Work with student in individual and group therapy settings.
  • Educate students, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, physicians, psychologists, and other professionals to support students' needs.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student evaluations, progress, and treatment plans.
  • Stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Experience working with children/adults with speech and language disorders.
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
  • Experience in a clinical, school, or healthcare setting.
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of speech disorders, language development, and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping individuals improve their communication skills.
