Educators at The Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW) are hired with the invitation and encouragement to be life-long learners. FXW will employ faculty who enjoy teaching, who are progressive and innovative in their craft, who love working with students, who are great colleagues, and who truly find joy in their profession.  We expect that an FXW faculty member possesses the necessary knowledge, teaching skills, character, and commitment to be productive members of the FXW community.  Additionally, the FXW teacher will adhere to the unique Catholic mission and interfaith values of FXW School.

Middle School Social Studies Program Description

At the Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW), our 8th grade social studies program provides students with a rigorous curriculum.   Our inquiry-based learning approach engages students in investigations that build knowledge in History, Civics, Geography, and Economics.  Researched-based practices and curricular materials provide culturally responsive instruction.  Teaching strategies support student voice and choice to connect with their interests and experiences.

Middle School Social Studies Primary Functions

Overall, each teacher is responsible for educating the whole child by providing a quality learning experience to all students.  Each middle school teacher is a homeroom teacher and an advisor for one section of students.  As FXW is a faith-based school, all teachers may have the responsibility for teaching a section of religion (with materials provided).  Middle school teachers serve a grade level and are a member of a grade-level team.

Grade 4 Self-Contained Teacher Program Description
At The Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW), our grade 4 program provides students with a rigorous curriculum. We particularly work to build a strong foundation in core content areas before students move on to a departmentalized setting in Grades 5-8.  In addition, the grade 4 classroom teacher uses a student-centered, social, and emotional learning approach. This is comprised of a set of research and evidence-based practices designed to create a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom community.
