Job Summary:

Lake Highland seeks a Graphic Designer to advance Lake Highland's mission and brand by creating dynamic digital and print materials, leading design initiatives, and ensuring brand consistency across all platforms. This role requires strong creative execution, invention, imagination, and originality, independent project management, strategic thinking, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors. A blend of technical expertise and customer service drives the production of high-quality work, visual consistency, and creative excellence across all communications and marketing platforms.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Conceptualizing and producing original logos, e-blast graphics, school calendars, website designs, printed materials, event collateral, brochures, advertisements (print and digital), and other marketing assets.
  • Driving the creative process for major projects, such as the annual issues of Tartan magazine, from initial concept to final production.
  • Creating original illustrations and customized visual content that align with the school’s messaging, mission, and brand standards.
  • Reviewing and vetting artwork produced outside of the Communications & Marketing office to ensure strict adherence to brand guidelines and quality standards.
  • Collaborating with external vendors to define project scope, oversee production quality, and manage on-campus installations of graphic assets.
  • Capturing event photography as needed to support marketing and communication efforts.
  • Providing on-site support for marketing and school events as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in the following: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Mac computer interface; GoogleDrive
  • Strong creative and strategic abilities to conceptualize, design, and execute engaging, brand-aligned visual communications.
  • Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and manage multiple complex projects with a self-motivated approach.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative decision-making skills.
  • Skilled at cross-functional collaboration within a complex, fast-paced environment, working effectively with colleagues and external vendors.
  • High level of professionalism, customer service, and responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate creative concepts and project requirements.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in related field of artistic endeavors.
  • Related professional certifications preferred.
