Are you a strategic, mission-driven finance leader looking to make a lasting impact in education? Mill Springs Academy, a college and career readiness school serving non-traditional learners, is seeking a Director of Finance to join our senior leadership team.

💼 About the Role

As Director of Finance, you will play a critical leadership role by providing financial strategy, operational oversight, and visionary support to the Head of School and Board of Trustees. This is a highly visible role that manages budgeting, accounting, investments, compliance, risk management, and more.

🌟 Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial counsel to the Head of School and Board of Trustees.

• Lead all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, cash flow, and investments.

• Supervise business office staff and manage vendor, banking, and audit relationships.

• Guide risk management, legal compliance, and insurance strategies.

• Partner with Human Resources on compensation and benefits planning.

• Collaborate with admissions on tuition assistance planning.

• Play an active role in strategic and campus master planning, facilities oversight, and new construction projects.

• Submit surveys and financial data to organizations like NAIS, SAIS, and NBOA.

🎓 Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in finance, accounting, or business strongly preferred. CPA a plus.

• Experience: 10+ years in financial leadership roles, preferably in nonprofit or independent school settings.
