Job Description

Ashley Hall seeks a part-time Middle School Math Support Specialist to assist with grades 5-6. This dynamic, student-centered position supports the core math program through a push-in/pull-out model, working closely with students and teachers to promote confidence, competence, and curiosity in mathematics.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, personable, and energetic, with a strong commitment to supporting middle school learners at all levels. They must be flexible and adaptable, able to adjust strategies and materials based on evolving student needs and performance data. This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys being an integral part of a collaborative teaching team and is eager to contribute to the school's implementation of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP).

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and small group math support through a push-in/pull-out instructional model
  • Assist with formative assessments during class and support the grading of summative assessments
  • Collaborate with math faculty to plan differentiated instruction and create engaging, level-appropriate materials
  • Support flexible grouping of students based on progress monitoring and instructional needs
  • Proctoring of assessments as needed
  • Participate in ongoing curriculum planning and review, particularly in alignment with the MYP framework
  • Carry out basic administrative tasks related to student progress and instructional planning

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with students in grades 5-8, with a clear understanding of adolescent development and learning strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learning needs
  • Commitment to student-centered teaching, growth mindset practices, and the mission of Ashley Hall
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) or inquiry-based learning is a plus
  • Comfort with technology and digital tools to support learning and assessment
