Responsibilities:

  • Multisensory Math Instruction: Lead engaging and interactive Orton-Gillingham-based multisensory math classes, providing students with the tools they need to thrive in math.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with our Key Middle School team to share responsibility for student success, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Uphold Teaching Expectations: Demonstrate excellence in teaching and uphold Key School teaching standards, ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education.
  • Advisory Responsibilities: Provide guidance and support to students through advisory sessions, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges with confidence.
  • Professional Development: Embrace a variety of professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay current with best practices in dyslexia education and teaching pedagogy.  Complete the Multisensory Math I training course (1 week) and practicum (during year I).

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Teaching Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, demonstrating a strong track record of student success and instructional excellence.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a Master's degree in education, math, or other related experience.
  • Expertise in Dyslexia Education: Experience working with students with dyslexia and a deep understanding of their unique learning needs.
  • Multisensory Math Training: Willingness to complete the KLC multisensory math professional development which will equip you with the tools to effectively teach our students.  Complete the Multisensory Math I training course (1 week) and practicum (during year One).
  • Initiative and Lifelong Learning: Proven initiative and commitment to lifelong learning, continuously seeking opportunities to expand your knowledge and expertise in dyslexia education.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Flexibility to take on other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and growth of Key School.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • This role may involve occasional standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • The work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
