Primary Objectives:
In partnership with the director of athletics, the athletics facilities manager manages the upkeep of the athletic facilities and grounds and serves our coaches in preparing all venues for practices and games hosted on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all athletic competition and practice spaces
- Maintain all athletic storage spaces (keeps blown out and maintained)
- Manage the relationship with and be the main point of contact and communication for Turfwell for field cutting and field maintenance issues.
- Manage and be accountable for the athletics maintenance and repair budget.
- Prepare all fields and courts before practices and games. (Field markings, pylons, goals, clean playing surface, etc.)
- Prep the stadium and spectator spaces before home events. (Bleachers and restrooms)
- Repair and assemble athletic equipment.
- Manage repairs of facilities and equipment with outside vendors.
- Deliver coaches packages to their office or storage areas.
- Along with the director of athletics, assist in overseeing facilities needs for large projects.
- Work cohesively with cleaning staff, facilities team and security on related issues that arise.
- Bring back in house weekly/monthly maintenance issues that can be done internally. (Painting, pressure washing, cleaning, bathroom repairs, etc.)
Required Professional and Personal Attributes, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- A high level of commitment to Christian education.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related area is required.
- Experience in facilities and grounds maintenance, especially within athletics is highly desired.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to develop rapport with students, faculty, staff, and other sports programs.
- Ability to recognize and analyze problems and develop potential solutions, calling on staff resources and outside help as needed.
- Effective time-management skills.

Work for this position will take place primarily in an office, and secondarily in the Athletic Center/fields. The physical demands of this position include lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds intermittently, and up to 50 pounds rarely; carrying up to 10 pounds often, up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds rarely; climbing/balancing and crawling rarely; pushing/pulling, kneeling, and crouching intermittently; reaching, bending, and stooping regularly; sitting, walking, and standing often. To perform this job the person must be able to work for extended periods of time at a computer/keyboard; must be able to talk, hear, stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time; and must possess normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
