The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Lower School Teaching Assistant to join the Lower School Campus at Clark Road.  We are committed to providing a relevant and student-centered learning experience for our students on an evolving, new campus.

Responsibilities – Reporting to the Director of the Lower School, the Lower School Teaching Assistant will be responsible for the following:

  • Implement small group instruction, differentiating instruction.
  • Collect and maintain data on student academic progress.
  • Provide timely feedback to students, and collaborate with faculty to offer specialized support in pursuit of each student's learning goals.
  • Facilitate and design effective group/collaborative work and productive dialogue.
  • Assist the lead teacher in all aspects of day-to-day classroom activities.
  • Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.

Qualifications – The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and /or preferred:

  • Associate’ Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education preferred.
  • Teaching experience in PreK through 2nd grade preferred, ideally in an independent school setting.
  • A passion for learning and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and the Google drive platform.
  • A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies including students, faculty, staff, and parents.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a 10-month full-time exempt position available in August 2025. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
