School Nurse

St. Joseph Catholic School, a PK4 to 8th-grade archdiocesan parish School of Excellence, is seeking a full-time school nurse. 

Responsibilities

• Maintains emergency medical cards as submitted annually by parents. 
• Receives students who become ill to the clinic.
• Determines severity of student illness and contacts parents if necessary.
• Maintains appropriate documentation regarding prescription medication to be dispensed during school.
• Maintains medication logs.
• Responds to accident/emergency during the school day.
• Conducts research as requested.
• Maintains student files and records. 
• Maintains a clean and organized working environment

Time allocation:  Full Time-Time, 190-day contract/work days, defined locally.

Education, Training and Experience:

• Registered nurse preferred; licensed practical nurse acceptable. Current certification required.
• CPR/AED trained.
• Knowledge of first-aid procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Represents school and the archdiocese in a positive and professional manner.
• Excellent oral & written communication skills. 
• Good organizational skills. 
• Ability to relate to students. 
• Ability to maintain calm during emergencies
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds.
• Able to maintain confidentiality

Salary:    

RN:  Salary - $44,650 - $70,000 (dependent on degree and experience.)         

LPN Hourly $20.36 - $29 (dependant on degree and experience)
